Performance and Directing
There are all sorts of performance. I have had opportunities to perform in choirs, chamber ensembles, mixed instrument early music ensembles, gamelan, operas, solo singing performances, and as the director of several choirs. Each one of these experiences has informed my growth as a musician and as a person. I find joy in all forms of musical expression, and I look forward to trying new things!
Be it. Live it. Sing it.
While my education is primarily in vocal performance, I’ve always loved choirs. The past few years, I have had the delightful opportunity to serve as the director of the Portland Peace Choir, a non-audition choir who’s mission is to foster peace, kindness, and understanding through the power of music. It’s a delightful group of people and a beautiful mission. If you’re interested in joining the choir, please visit portlandpeacechoir.org.
Agréable Enchanteresse
Agreable Enchanteresse is the first aria from André Campra’s cantata Arion. I have a particular interest in Early Music, that is, music from the Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque eras, so singing this Baroque piece was especially fun for me.
Penguin Geometry
I love musical comedy, and this piece, Penguin Geometry by John Duke, epitomizes that. Though, I always thought the title would be more accurate as Penguin Geography.
